Potential intensity classes within the Bushfire Prone Area are calculated by combining information on Potential Fuel Load, Maximum Landscape Slope and Fire Weather Severity to calculate Potential Fire-line Intensity. Potential Fire-line Intensity is then divided into three potential bushfire intensity classes - Very High, High and Medium. Potential Impact Buffers are calculated to include all land within 100m from areas of medium, high or very high potential bushfire intensity. Further details about the methodology are available in the CSIRO report: Leonard, J., Newnham, G., Opie, K., and Blanchi, R. (2014) A new methodology for state-wide mapping of bushfire prone areas in Queensland. CSIRO, Australia.
